Boston cream pie recipe;

Every single layer of the Boston cream pie is prepared on its own before they can now be layered together, so the recipe will go down layer by layer.

Cream filling (pastry cream)

Open up the eggs and take out the egg yolk, that is the only required part for this layer. Beat the egg yolks until they are smooth and uniform. Then mix with cornstarch until you obtain a smooth mixture.

Separately Mix the salt, milk, and sugar preferably in a saucepan. Once the mixture starts heating, remove about half of the mixture and add to the egg yolk, and cornstarch mixture. stir both of them together, then gently pour them back into the milk mixture.

Stir all together until you get a uniform and thick mixture. Add in the vanilla. Place a plastic wrap on the surface to prevent a tough layer from forming, then refrigerate for about 2 hours.

Heat the oven up to 350F, get a 9-inch deep cake pan, and spray with baking spray.

Using an electric mixer, mix every cake ingredient together in a large bowl. Use the mixer on a very low speed about 30 seconds, whilst stopping intermittently so as to scrape the batter from side and bottom, then change and beat at high speed for at most 3 minutes.

Pour the mix into the cake pan, spreading it evenly all over the pan

Bake for 35 mins.

Chocolate ganache

Melt the butter and chocolate under low heat using a saucepan, then add the powdered sugar and vanilla. Microwave the water until hot, then add into the chocolate mixture little by little until it is smooth and thin enough

Assembling the Boston cream pie;

Split the cake into 2 horizontally, you can use the toothpick as a guide while doing that.

Place on a serving plate with the cut side up.spread the pastry cream on the bottom layer, replace the cut top part of the cake back, then pour the chocolate ganache on top of the cake, letting some drizzle down on the side

Refrigerate the pie uncovered until serving.
